A Golf Getaway in Paradise

Posted by: Nassau Paradise Island on November 17, 2017

It’s always golf season in The Bahamas! Nassau Paradise Island has some of the Caribbean’s best golf courses, so if you’re looking for a tropical golf getaway, you’re in luck! Chose from two challenging golf courses and shoot for par in Paradise. To help you plan the perfect golf trip, we’ve put together everything you need to know about taking a golf getaway in Paradise.

The Courses

First things first: Where to play! You’ve got your choice of two spectacular ocean side golf courses in Nassau and Paradise Island.

The Ocean Club Golf Course is a 7,100 yard, 18-hole, par-72 course on Paradise Island. Designed by Tom Weiskopf, this championship course has challenging bunkers (not to mention Bahamas crosswinds to up the challenge) and breathtaking views of turquoise Bahamian waters. Look out for the 12th hole, a 208-yard par three with a sloping, well-bunkered green, and the beautiful yet intimidating 17th hole that runs parallel to the ocean—just begging to be done in two.

If you’re looking for a golf course in Nassau, you’re in luck! With the opening of Baha Mar earlier this year, there’s a new course in town! Royal Blue Golf Course is a 7,189 yard Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course that combines the stunning ocean views you’d expect of a golf course in paradise with otherworldly “moonscapes” and jungle surroundings on the back nine. One thing’s for sure: this course will keep you on your toes as the 18-hole, 72-par course winds through an ever-evolving landscape that is as distracting as the holes are challenging.

The Equipment

One thing that makes a Bahamas vacation so convenient is that you can pack light! Don’t worry about traveling with your golf clubs—when you golf in Nassau Paradise Island, you not only get to take in gorgeous scenery from the green, you have the opportunity to try out some of the game’s top equipment! Both Ocean Club and Royal Blue have an extensive selection of luxury golf clubs available for rent, so leave yours at home and grab a bag of Callaway, Taylor Made, Titleist, Itobori, or PXG clubs.

The Fun

The best part of a golf vacation in The Bahamas? Post-game fun! With so many options for things to do, exciting dining experiences, not to mention some of the most stunning white sand beaches to enjoy, life beyond the green is pretty great when you’re in Nassau Paradise Island.

No matter where you choose to stay in Paradise, you’ll be treated to lush greenery, Bahamas breezes, magnificent pools, and, of course, pristine stretches of Bahamas beachfront to enjoy! Add to that a vibrant culinary scene, luxury spas, and state-of-the-art casinos, and you’ve got the makings of a golf getaway you won’t soon forget.
