Posted by: Nassau Paradise Island on October 17, 2024

From early-morning breakfasts to late-night snacks, dining out is one of the best parts of any vacation. And though dietary restrictions can sometimes put a damper on your holiday fun, the wide variety of dining options available in Nassau & Paradise Island make finding something to suit your needs a breeze.

Dine confidently through The Bahamas’ flavourful fusion of Spanish, West African, and British influences, served up with a distinctly Caribbean twist. Whether you’re looking for allergy-friendly fare, plant-based options, kosher cuisine, or certified halal dining, you’re sure to find it here!

For Vegetarians & Vegans

Bold new flavours, classic comfort foods, and sweet frozen treats to beat the heat — when it comes to plant-based dining, It’s Better in The Bahamas. Whether you’re looking for elevated fine dining or a quick, casual bite to eat, vegetarians and vegans will find themselves spoiled for choice among the restaurants of Nassau & Paradise Island.

Start your day off deliciously at Perch at The Cove at Atlantis Paradise Island, a contemporary breakfast experience featuring tasty options like their vegetarian English muffin or fresh, stonebaked breakfast flatbread. For lunch, savour the flavours of the Bahamian Sea as they collide with the sizzling heat of Mexican cuisine at Costa at Rosewood Baha Mar. A fantastic option for group dining, their menu includes several veg-friendly small plates that are big on taste, like their herbed guacamole or queso fundido.

Stop in for a quick snack or sweet treat at The Pointe Market at Margaritaville Beach Resort, a general store and gourmet market selling vegan-friendly ice pops. And for that special-occasion dining experience, guests at Sandals Royal Bahamian should be sure to make a reservation at La Plume. The Parisian-inspired restaurant located within Sandals Royal Bahamian offers delicious vegan options like their salade de ratatouille et pois chiches. Bon appetit!

For Allergy-Friendly Dining

In Nassau & Paradise Island, we strive to ensure everyone enjoys their own slice of Paradise. But for people with food allergies, dining out in an unfamiliar locale can sometimes be a source of worry. At famed Asian fusion restaurant Nobu, chef Nobu Matsuhisa's knowledgeable staff take the guesswork out of allergy-friendly dining. The menu is helpfully labelled with the most common allergens, including shellfish, dairy, peanuts, and tree nuts, and staff are always happy to chat through ingredients and preparation procedures.

For those with gluten allergies or sensitivities, The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort’s Ocean Blu offers a great selection of island-inspired dishes like fresh oysters, blackened New York strip steak, or a classic Bahamian conch salad. And at SLS Baha Mar, celebrated restaurant Fi’lia serves up honest Italian dining with an allergy-friendly menu designed with dietary restrictions in mind.

Looking for some added peace of mind during your stay? Get in touch with your hotel or resort before your arrival. Our local resorts are no strangers to managing complex dietary restrictions. In fact, both Atlantis Paradise Island and The Ocean Club have won glowing praise from allergy-management resource Spokin, and are even featured in their Allergy-Friendly Nassau Guide!

For Keeping it Kosher

When you picture a dreamy island getaway, it usually doesn’t involve packing half your kitchen into a suitcase or washing dishes in the hotel room sink. Yet, for those who keep kosher, this is an all-too-familiar reality. Thankfully, Nassau & Paradise Island offers a great selection of kosher eats, so you can dine out with peace of mind and save space in your luggage.

Get a taste of authentic, New York-style deli fare at Murray’s Deli. Located within Atlantis Paradise Island with stunning views of the Atlantis Marina, Murray’s serves up familiar favourites like challah French toast, bagels with lox, and some of the tastiest donuts around. Stop in for lunch and enjoy one of their Coney Island-style kosher dogs with beef sauce, onion, and a side of crispy fries.

For family dining, Cinkō Asian Latino Grill located at Baha Mar is another excellent option. The restaurant’s Chabad-supervised kosher kitchen churns out a bright fusion of Asian and South American flavours, including unforgettable ceviche dishes and signature sushi creations—all shellfish-free, of course. Did we mention kids under five eat free?

Are you staying at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar? Then you’ll want to check out Knosh, a beachfront food truck offering an array of flavorful cuisines from around the world. Flatbreads, bowls, sandwiches, patties, and savoury cheese-fry creations — it’s all good, and all certified Kosher Cholov Yisroel.

Of course, Atlantis isn’t the only place to go for an island-style halal feast. Located within Baha Mar resort, Cleo Grill offers an elevated take on Mediterranean street food. While the restaurant isn’t entirely halal, its menu includes a few standout halal-certified dishes, including their signature Greek salad, lamb shawarma, or a full rack of lamb served with chimichurri — all helpfully labelled on the menu.
