Here are some of our top travel tips for preparing for your Bahamas vacation, no matter when you choose to travel next.
Read Up
There are so many options available to you when researching your next vacation. Travel blogs, destination websites, forums like TripAdvisor, social media posts, and travel agents are all incredible resources for finding out things like hotel and resort amenities, restaurants, things to do, local shops, food to try, what weather to expect, transportation tips and more. Also take note of your options for travel insurance, flight changes, hotel room upgrades, or weather cancellations. Try making a saved album on Instagram of all of the places you’d like to see and dishes you’d like to try or a shared document with your travel buddies so that everyone can participate.
Pack Perfectly
For your Bahamas vacation, shorts, t-shirts, swimsuits, and sandals are obvious, but it’s smart to pack a warmer layer, too. It can get breezy if you’re out on a boat excursion, and you’ll want to be comfortable on cooler nights after a day in the hot Bahamas sun. Wear your layer on the plane to keep you comfortable during your flight and save room in your suitcase.
Clearly label and pack any prescription medication you may need during your stay. It’s also helpful to pack some ibuprofen, tissues, disinfectant wipes or gel, and aloe vera lotion to help combat any day-to-day health hazards, headaches, or sunburns.
Plan Some Fun
This is especially important if you’re traveling with kids—and we recommend planning some in-flight activities, too—but is helpful for you no matter who you’re vacationing with! Having one or two activities or excursions planned adds a bit of structure to your vacation and gives you one more thing to look forward to.
