P1 AquaX Comes to Paradise

Get ready to amp up the adrenaline, because P1 AquaX is coming to Nassau Paradise Island!

What is P1 AquaX?

AquaX is the premiere international personal watercraft (PWC) racing competition. The competition started in the United Kingdom in 2002 and quickly became one of the fastest-growing championships in the world. 17 years later, P1 has held more than 600 races on four continents, with participants from 18 countries. P1 AquaX competitors are divided into two categories depending on what type of PWC they ride and what their style is. The current world champion, Brian Baldwin, joins 40 of the sport’s top competitors in Nassau Paradise Island November 8-10, 2019 for The Bahamas World Championship.

The Main Event

This exciting three-day event is hosted by Atlantis, Paradise Island—a breathtaking backdrop for the best PWC riders in the world to take to the turquoise waters for some high-speed action. Elite competitors who have already beat out hopefuls at continental championships to secure their place at The Bahamas World Championship will speed through the warm Bahamian waters of Nassau Paradise Island on their quest to win the top prize.

P1 AquaX Bahamas World Championship

There are typically two types of races at P1 AquaX events—the Enduro and the Sprint. Enduro competitors ride sit-down crafts and race on large race tracks. With these races lasting 30 minutes, competitors—and their watercrafts—need to be in good physical condition. The Sprint competition (the original Jet Ski competition) is all about stand-ups. Sprint races take place closer to the surf/shore line, which makes for a challenging course—even though it’s smaller than the Enduro races. Where the Enduro is all about preparation and will, the Sprint is about speed and agility.

What to Expect

Spectators will be seated in stands positioned alongside Nassau Harbour for an up-close view of the racecourse—and all of the action. The racecourse itself runs through the heart of Nassau, the ideal setting for course requirements. AquaX spectators will be able to experience the thrill of the competition from an excellent vantage point.
