Walkway surrounded by greenery

Seeking solitude? Head for this lush, 11-acre botanical garden that provides a peaceful respite in the heart of Nassau. Relax among more than 90 species of palm trees, native and exotic flowers, trickling streams and mirror-like ponds, and lively birds. Highly regarded as one of the world’s best-known private palm tree collections, the garden is home to transplanted palms from as far away as Madagascar, Indonesia, and Mexico.

Easily accessible, the park features meandering paths and boardwalks that are perfect for leisurely strolls. If you’re a birder, bring your binoculars and camera: you’re likely to meet some interesting feathered friends along the way, such as warblers and other migratory birds. The park’s visitor center provides information about the plants and wildlife you can discover during your visit, and there are restroom facilities on site.

Plan to spend an hour or two exploring and admiring the park. Admission is $10 per adult and $5 for kids 12 and under, with free admission for Bahamas Nature Trust members. Guided tours are available upon request and must be arranged in advance.
