2019 Round-Up: Here’s What Happened in Nassau Paradise Island This Year

New Year's Resolutions You'll Want To Keep

Welcome, 2020! With the start of a fresh new year upon us, we’re setting goals, establishing good habits, and reflecting on ways to make 2020 our healthiest, happiest year yet. You’ve probably already heard that taking a vacation is good for you, but did you know that getting away for some R&R or fun in the sun can also help you stick to your New Year’s Resolutions?

No matter what your intentions are for 2020–getting fit, unplugging more, or crossing a big item off your bucket list–here’s how visiting The Bahamas can help you achieve your personal goals.

Resolution: Exercise more.

In Nassau Paradise Island there are plenty of ways to make fitness fun. Sign up for Marathon Bahamas this January and set a new personal best in the 5k or, if you’re feeling really ambitious, tackle the full marathon!

Engage in some fun (and healthy) competition on one of Nassau Paradise Island’s tennis courts. At the Atlantis Sports Center and the Ocean Club Golf Course, six courts are available for play. You’ll find three Har-Tru clay courts and three hard courts at Atlantis, and six Har-Tru courts at Ocean Club–three of which are lit for night play. Or book the courts at Baha Mar, where you can practice your serve on one of six hard courts, two Har-Tru clay courts, or a grass court.

If stretching it out is more your speed, sign up for a yoga class. Guests at The Ocean Club can participate in a one-hour yoga class offered daily at 8 a.m. on the beach deck. At Dolphin Cay at Atlantis, Paradise Island, guests can sign up for a 45-minute standup paddleboard yoga class in the middle of a serene dolphin habitat. Or stretch it out with the feathered friends at Baha Mar during a flamingo yoga session!

Resolution: Eat healthier.

In The Bahamas, we love our food. The great news if you’re trying to eat healthier is that there are plenty of fresh, flavorful choices in Nassau Paradise Island to keep your good habits on track. In fact, some of The Bahamas’ signature dishes–like conch salad–are naturally light and healthy. The flavors are so fresh and delicious, there’s no need for heavy dressings or add-ons to make these meals taste great!

Buffets such as the Regatta Buffet at Baha Mar and Poseidon’s Table at Atlantis feature a wide assortment of healthy options–load up your plate with delicious fruits and veggies and other nutritious nibbles. At Sip Sip at The Cove Atlantis, savor fresh, chilled seasonal fruits and seafood. Or, when it’s time for a refreshing beverage, grab an ice-cold Kalik Light instead of a regular beer to enjoy all the flavor and a lighter feel.

If you prefer to prepare your own meals, there are several options for residential-style accommodations with full kitchens or kitchenettes. Stock up on ingredients at a nearby grocery store and whip up your favorite meals and snacks.

Resolution: Practice more self-care.

There’s nothing more indulgent than a little pampering, and our world-class spas offer countless ways to treat yourself. Vacation is all about unwinding and leaving your everyday worries and cares behind, and we can’t think of a better way to get into relaxation mode!

Soothe sore, stressed muscles with a therapeutic massage, revitalize tired post-holiday skin with a lavish full-body wrap treatment or facial, or book a pedicure or manicure that will have you smiling every time you take a peek at your feet or fingers. Choose an a la carte spa service, or splurge on a full day of luxurious treatments that will have you feeling as great as you look.

Resolution: Spend more time with loved ones.

Nassau Paradise Island is a wonderful place to make unforgettable family vacation memories. With plenty of kid-friendly accommodations, activities, and restaurants, it’s easy to create a fun family vacation itinerary that everyone will love.

From babies to teens, kids will love splashing in our sparkling turquoise waters (at the beach, in the pool, or both!) An assortment of kids’ clubs offer fun and interactive programming for various ages.

For a more affordable family vacation, consider Comfort Suites, where a free hot daily breakfast buffet and free access to the facilities of Atlantis, Paradise Island come standard with every stay! Roomy suites offer plenty of space for everyone.

Resolution: Try something new.

Make 2020 the year you step out of your comfort zone and try something totally new. After all, research suggests that having a bucket list (and crossing things off that list) can make your life more meaningful. And it’s never too late to have a brand-new experience!

Scuba diving, making your own wine (or sampling from one of the world’s largest wine cellars), learning to golf, or swimming with pigs–no matter what’s on your bucket list, The Bahamas is the place to check off a couple of things!

Set some goals–we’ll help you achieve them!

Ready to crush your 2020 resolutions? We’d love to see you in Nassau Paradise Island and help you cross a few goals off your list. In fact, if you’re overdue for a vacation, just booking a trip is a great accomplishment!
